Chimney Duster Muskoka

About Chimney Duster

Here at Chimney Duster we work hard to meet all your wood-burning needs, from yearly maintenance and inspection, to installs and repairs. We also offer WETT (Wood Energy Technology Transfer) inspections for transfer of homes, insurance purposes, new installations, and peace of mind. Our goal is to be known in Muskoka for quality, integrity, value, and personable service.

Meet Dustin

Dustin Good is a WETT-Certified Chimney Sweep and Level 1 Inspector. After working as a Red-Seal Journeyman Carpenter for 15 years, Dustin started an apprenticeship in the chimney sweep business, and quickly fell in love. Starting Chimney Duster in 2021 has allowed for a life-long dream of having a family business to come true. Outside of work, Dustin enjoys spending time with his wife of 18 years and their seven wild children on their family farm outside of Bracebridge. In his spare time Dustin enjoys a sauna with friends, swimming in the snapping-turtle infested pond with his kids, studying the Bible, and watching overly-cheesy Kung Fu movies

Meet Javan

Javan started learning the administration side of the business by manning the phones at 14. Now at 16, he has followed in Dustin's footsteps by completing his WETT training and is enjoying apprenticing alongside of Dustin on the job site. Javan is excited to be saving money for college while learning a trade and taking part in the family business.  Outside of work, Javan is finishing off grade 12, interning at his local church, practicing his basketball moves, working on an impossibly-difficult Chopin piano piece, and experimenting in the vegetable garden.

Meet the Family

Chimney Duster is truly a family-run business - as a homeschooling family with 7 children, there is a place for everyone to get involved. The kids love to help out with assembling file folders, painting chimney caps, and accompanying Dad on sweeps. Our family also operates a homestead complete with sheep, goats, chickens, pigs, ducks, geese, more chickens, a lone turkey, and a misguided peacock named Charles. Outside of the homestead, our kids can be found exploring wild places, swimming in Muskoka's endless lakes, making all sorts of music together (think piano meets accordion meets trumpet, etc.) and reading good books.
